The Archive: Where You Get A View Of Sexy Supercars With Your Coffee
Enjoy a cuppa at the coffee shop, then ask the barista about a tourIf you love your cars as much as you love your caffeine, then the view from The Archive’s coffee bar is made for you. The café overlooks what could be Tony Stark’s collection of rides – from Ferraris to classic Porches and superbikes.
COFFEE AND FANTASIES
The Archive Automotive specialises in vehicle storage and maintenance, high-end detailing and sales. You don’t have to be rich to enjoy the view, the coffee shop is open to all. So while you sit down for a cappuccino, you can daydream about what it would be like to own that blue Mustang. (You can also get a tour of the premises if you ask the barista nicely).
You’ll pay *R22 for a single Americano, *R26 for a double, and they serve different light meals and snacks every day, such as muffins, pastries, quiches and sandwiches. There’s also a baby chino (a frothy cup of warm milk) for the little ones. Meal prices range between *R25 and R55 (*prices subject to change).
SUPERCAR SLICKNESS
The interior is sleek and modern with a grey colour scheme, marble tables, wooden flooring and wooden panels above the booth chair. The walls are decorated with pictures of motor racing legends and there are car shows on repeat on the big screen TV. If you need to charge up your phone, there are plug points beneath the booth chair. Plus there’s free wifi.
WHERE TO FIND IT
The Archive (look for the green wall of foliage) is across the Road from Wembley Square in Gardens and is open from 8am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays, closed on Sundays.
